Question by Lindsay: Was Anna Pavlova actually in Swan Lake?
I’ve been doing a little bit of research on ballerina Anna Pavlova and I know she was in “The Dying Swan” but I’ve also seen that she was Odette in “Swan Lake”. Is this true? If so would you be able to link me to a reliable source? (Not Wikipedia or anything like that).
Thank you so much!
Lindsay
Okay I found it! If you go to Amazon and search Dance of the Swan (a book) you’ll see that you can ‘look inside’ and her resume is in there which lists Odette in Swan Lake.
Thanks so much guys! I really appreciate it.

The Dying Swan was choreographed for her by Fokine in 1905
As many know, Dying Swan has nothing to do with Odette from Swan Lake.
Pavlova however did dance Swan Lake as well according to a website from the Mariinsky theater. (Kirov ballet) Because she was a Prima Ballerina and that was a popular ballet, there is no reason to doubt that she didn’t dance that as well.

no, but she was famous for ''The Dying Swan'', the composer was saint-saens, not tchaikovsky

Do not confuse The Dying Swan (a short solo choreographed for her by Michel Fokine) with Swan Lake. She did dance in Swan Lake. Here's a link to a photo of the costume she wore in 1905.

(edited: I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time getting the link to work, but if you just Google "Pavlova's Swan Lake costume" you'll find the photo.)
