No, he was an epigone of Stalin’s regime and nothing more. There were only two true revolutionaries among the leaders of the Petrograd Soviet in 1917 and they were Lenin and Trotsky. This is not to say that they did all the revolutionary work. Many others, like Kamenev and Zinoviev simply followed Lenin and Trotsky’s lead. However, it is important to realize that the masses of Petrograd and the rest of Russia carried out much of the revolutionary work. It is among these unheard of men and women where you will find real revolutionaries.
