He was out of his mind on speed!
And in the end he caved in to the russians – removed US bases from Turkey – which was what Khruschev had put weapons into Cuba to get in the first place.

Kennedy didn't confront anyone.
Kennedy secretly gave up a handful of strategic positions (such as missile silos and a promise never to invade Cuba) behind the scenes so Khrushchev would leave him alone.
It is funny when people say JFK was a hawk. He was a pussycat. He caved in every conflict.

THe myth lives on. HE confronted no one. Dean Rusk did all the confrontation, as you call it. Actually there was little if any of that going on. I was around then. I saw it. IT is not like the revisionist Kennedy worshipers say it was.
