What American students are thinking about an exchange student from Russia?

Question by Nata Gusakovskaya: What American students are thinking about an exchange student from Russia or Ukraine?
I watch Mean Girls 2 and there one of Plastics say “…she’s from Florida or Texas or even… from Russia!” What’s that mean? What’s wrong with Russian students? It’s just interesting, I’m planning moved to USA and that’s important for me.

YOu didn’t get the joke. High school kids are thinking about one thing, THEMSELVES. To her coming from some where different, anywhere, made you different.
