What are good films noting the rise and fall of Russia?

Question by David: What are good ‘Political’ films noting the rise/fall of Russia?
I don’t mean the rise of Communism.

For a politics assignment we have been asked to look into a subject of our choice – mine being the rise/fall of Russia – and if Russia is merely a dying star (it looks bright from a distant, but as you get close you see the cracks).

Are there any fiction OR non-fiction films that look at this? Something about the rise of BRIC would be ideal
