Stanislavski wanted actors to take a situation and make it as realistic as possible (not using mime) and the 4th wall effect in which the actors treat it as the audience is spying in on the characters they’re playing but none of the focus from the actors are on the audience what so ever, so if an audience member laughs or a baby cries in the audience they carry on as professionals.
A really great book I have myself is a book called……Constantin Stanislavski ~ An Actor Prepares and it goes on about his technique and what he wants the actors to do. I’d really advise you to get this because it helped me with my scene studies work which was based on Stanislavski’s system. 🙂
