Anna Anderson was proven NOT to be a Romanov by DNA testing.
Prince Phillip of England shared ancestry with the Romanov family and was one of several royals of various European countries who donated DNA. They were matched against DNA from organ samples that had been taken from Ms Anderson when she had had surgery and were still on record in the hospital. Currently in Russia they believe they have now found the bones of both Anastasia and her young brother. Their bodies, if you remember the story, were thrown off the truck and away from the area where the rest of the family was buried.
The government currently is doing research to confirm their identities. Interesting enough Anderson was proven to be a German woman with a history of mental illness also via DNA testing with her remaining
relatives in Germany. Search the net for the details. If you were a German with mental illness wouldn't you rather be the Grand Duchess of all the Russias??

I know one of them was named Anna Anderson, not sure about the others…you might try wikipedia.org
Hope this helps even a little bit.

Anna Anderson. She, at least, was the first. She was fished out of a canal (dammit, can't remember where) suffering from memory-loss and sent to an asylum. There it was noted that she had a remarkable resemblance to Anastasia. She denied it, but the rumours persisted. She was questioned; and seemed to know a remarkable amount of things Anastasia would know (eg the internal arrangements of various palaces); although there were also suspicious gaps.
Remarkably, the British Royal Family (Anastasia's closest living relatives) went out of their way to have her claim proved false (later claimants they simply ignored).
We'll never know – but I'm almost sold on this one.
