When I hear that name, I sense a rebirth of oppression, secrecy, political corruption, and everything else associated with the former Soviet Union.

Putin has also been implicated in murder of others…quite KGB like!

He smacks of the shady espionage that once filled to void around the Iron Curtain. It seem obvious that any freedom of the democratic type is destined to see its death in Putin's Russia.

I think of the corruption of the Russian society, and wonder if he is in bed with the Russian Mafia. I also think about him accusing the United States of wanting to start up the cold war again. Also the new missile he just revealed to the world this week. I also think of the fact that the Russian population is shrinking by 750,000 a year and they have the lowest life expectancy of any "industrialized nation".

News flash Vladimir, you lost the cold war, don't use the United States as a scapegoat for your failed government.

    KGB .
I remember fully when he took office . And I also remember a newspaper article warning people to be wary of this man and the possibility that he would revert the new Russia back to the old Soviet Union .

Whoever wrote that article (I think it was in the Sunday Chicago Tribune the week Putin took over ) was smarter than most people gave him credit for !!

EDIT* – As of now , they were 28 responses . 23 of which obviously knew who he was and 5 no matter what country they're from, 5 that are completely clueless .
    Ref :
    1 thought about chess ??
    1 thought about sex ??
1 was clueless enough to not even guess . . see : ?????????
1 who thought you were speaking a foreign language
And 1 who thought it was a poopoo platter !!

That's nearly 20% of clueless people on just this one topic . Oh the humanity of ignorance !!
