1) Stalin believed that prominent Germans responsible for the war should be summarily executed; he had a list with 50,000 names on,which included almost the entire officer corps of the German army.
He also believed Germany should pay substantial reparations to Russia for the damage and destruction they had caused in Russia during the war.
2) Germany should be de-Nazified – the German people made to understand Hitler was bad and what the Nazis had done was wrong. The surviving leadership should stand trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
He also believed that Germany should be helped to recover economically, and should return to a democratic system of government.
Stalin and Truman both agreed Germany should not be allowed any armed forces
3) Truman would say freedom of choice, democracy, the A-bomb and capitalism made USA superior.
Stalin would say the Communist Party, Marxist ideology, the Red Army and his style of leadership (centralized dictatorship) made USSR superior.
