What is a traditional Russian wedding toast from a father to a daughter?

Question by karpj: What is a traditional Russian wedding toast from a father to a daughter?
I’ve been asked to write a toast for my fiance’s father for our upcoming wedding. He is a formal Russian businessman, and I am looking for a traditional Russian toast that a father might give at his daughter’s wedding. If it was possible to have a translated toast, as well as the original Russian, that would be ideal. You could go back into history or it could be a poem or except from a traditional poem. Thanks!

I've searched the internet for toasts in Russian. All of them are extremely corny!! So impersonal! In my opinion, they would certanly sound insincere.
What I suggest you do is find a nice profound story (relating to your wedding and with some moral in it), make it personal and let it translate into Russian (I suppose you'll have to as there will be some Russian relatives on your wedding) Don't worry about the "cultural misunderstanding" – if you mean well, they'll understand.
I will be glad to help you translate.
    Have a nice celebration!
