Question by nothing.: What is Dostoevsky’s main point in the first part of Notes From Underground?
I am a growing fan of Russian literature, and it’s only recently that I’ve discovered Dostoevsky (nevermind Crime and Punishment). I’m currently reading Notes From Underground and wanted to know what you all thought his main ideas were in the first half of the book. I read the notes beforehand, did some other heavy digging, and have come to some conclusions, but I wanted to see what others think.

The wonderful thing about literature and reading is that it isnt my opinion or the NYTimes’ opinion or anyone else’s opinion about what you read that counts. Its yours. So, if you have already read it and done some research on it, and you have formed some conclusions, whatever they are, they are your opinions and that’s what matters. Enjoy the reading. Pax – C
