i am a funeral director in dallas, and here’s my take on it. it’s important whether we’re taking the old coffin or the modern casket. coffins are custom build to the body, and a done 1 at a time by 1 carpenter/ undertaker. I only stock coffins that i make myself, as most caskets are flashy crap, with at least 30% imported materials. the casket is a factory made thing on an assembly line. remember this, casket are for burying the bodies, coffins are for funerals. settle for no imports, and no substitutes.
