What makes stoli elite so ultra premium vodka?

Question by ntv2nowhere: What makes stoli elite vodka so ultra premium?
I’m a bartender trying to sell this “ultra premium” vodka at $ 20 a martini vs. $ 13 for Goose! I cannot find any info on this new ultra expensive product (including the stoli website). I want to know what makes it soooo much more expensive then the million other vodkas out there?!!! The bottle’s only info is five times distilled (yeah, yeah, yeah…) and wheat vodka. Please help…

Stolichnaya Elit Vodka. Elit by Stolichnaya celebrates the 500th anniversary of Vodka production in Russia using a modernized freezing method of the distallation process that allows the highest levels of purity.

Vodka No. 2: Stoli Elite (about $ 75). This strong, Russian, wheat-based vodka has a real bite. The gorgeous clear bottle with its clean architectural lines puts us in mind of Paris Hilton or Gwen Stefani, although Andreev thinks it would be a hit with the Russian Mafia. He wants a big bite of caviar with this one, and Turck agrees Stoli Elite is “assertive and works well with food.”

Oh and here’s some reviews:

Visitor Comments about Stoli Elite

Smoothest vodka on the market. I had it at El Centro in LA. Life was good.

Had 2 shots of this at Red Square in Vegas. I am totaly hooked…..nothing comes close to this excellent smooth Vodka…nothing

Sampled several brands in Red Square in Las Vegas. Stoli Elit was the BEST! Prior to Stoli Elit I did not prefer vodka due to the harsh bite. Elit changed my mind.

Very, very smooth, but almost boring to drink. I paid $ 12 for a girl sized martini. I would recommend it for women and not the man who enjoys a real martini.
Reviewer: Scot | Score: 4

Very smooth runs me about 58.99 a 5th. I wouldn’t make a mix drink with this. It would be an insult to stoli.

Maybe not up to the hype, but definitely worth the price. This one really doesn’t want freezing, and don’t think of insulting it with ice. Top notch.

Its premium because its distilled five time and wheat vodka, therefore a higher quality (aka less likely to get a hangover). And it costs more because Stolichnaya Vodka has the name recognition to warrent a higher price.

the freezing method used to purify the vodka uses a very cold container, the impurities come in contact with the walls of the container and freeze there. the pure vodka is what is left in a liquid state. this is the old method used in russia when most vodka was homemade and the vodka batches were small and stored in freezing cold weather.
