Question by : ]: What part of Germany did the Germans from Russia originate from?
My ancestors were German immigrants that immigrated to Russia. I am just wondering what part of Germany they came from before coming ro Russia.

Most immigrants were from the Rhine Province,North Bavaria, Baden, Hesse and the County Palatine of the Rhine.

People of German ethnicity were the most wide-spread group in Europe, having settlements in Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, NE Italy, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania, Bukovina, Russia, etc… Here are some links below regarding Germans in Russia
