Question by Jpendlton: What kind of pointe shoes do Svetlana Zakharova wear?
Just wondering. I love her dancing and I want to know what kind of shoes they are. I think they are either grishkos or russian pointes.

Russian Pointe
“In the world’s 80 biggest cities, including Athens, Melbourne, Paris, Prague, Seoul, Sofia and Tokyo, there are on sale Russian unique produce—ballet pointe, or toe, shoes.
The French Dance journal says that the only drawback of those ballet shoes is that a ballerina cannot do without them if she tries them on but once. True, prima ballerinas of Moscow and St. Petersburg, Svetlana Zakharova and Diana Vishneva, use only those pointe shoes. According to the prestigious French Dance journal, at present the Russian “Grishko” company producing dancewear is among the world’s leaders”.

What do you think?

I don't think they're Russian Pointes, I think from what the other answer says, they're Grishkos. Also, if you look in photos, the sole of the shoe and shape of it denote a Grishko.
Grishkos were worn by every Vaganova student back when Svetlana was training (during and shortly after the collapse of communism), and it would make sense that she still wears them. They appear to be hard shanks, with a very long vamp to hold her back, and a somewhat tapered box. Surely she has them custom made, but I'd say they look most similar to the Ulanova I or II. Probably the II. I wear Russian Pointes myself and can definitely say that hers are not RP, as the outer soles of RPs are solid and smooth, unlike Grishkos which are also a slightly darker color with a slightly gray-er satin.
Hope that helped! I love Sveta! 🙂
