A secret police or better a police whose aim was to imprison all the leaders of opposition…in italy there was a similar corp the Camice Nere (black overall) that was the Fascist party’s police.

Felix Dzerzhinsky was not “aristocrat”. His father belonged to what you might call Polish “gentry” in English.

It might be also interesting to look into the ethnic belonging of those who headed Cheka under Lenin in Russia.
