Question by oleot: Valentina, the Russian Cosmonaut, goes outside the International Space Station for a spacewalk, but when she?
is floating stationary at a distance of 15 m from the ship, a sharp piece of metal (space trash) hits her teather and severs the line. Remembering Newton’s 3rd Law, Valentina tosses her 2.0 kg camera away from the spaceship with a speed of 12 m/s.
How fast (in m/s) will Valentina, whose mass is now 68 kg, travel toward the spaceship?

Momentum is the same on both sides.
2*12 = 24kgms.
24/68 = 0.353 m/s.
