Question by [email protected]: Where do you register your visa in Moscow?
I will be visiting Moscow, Russia in 2 weeks and I am trying to figure out where to go to register my visa. I have heard that there is an office that you can go to but I have not found its exact address. Can somebody help me out, thanks.

If you’re staying at a hotel, you’ll get the registration there. It’s not the visa that needs registering but you. If you’re visiting friends they should take care of it.

If you are staying at somebody's house, you and the owner of the house have to go to the local post office to register. If you are staying at the hotel, the hotel should provide you with registration.
If you passed the registration deadline (3 days after your arrival), you can go to a travel agency and ask them if they can register you with backdate. It will cost a lot more though.

It depends on the invite, hotels will register a tourist version for you (some will, even if you don't stay there). Personal invites can take hours and you will encounter a system that hasn't changed much since Soviet times.
