Question by Chris: Who would win in a fight between a Siberian tiger and a brown bear?
And who would win between a Siberian tiger and a polar bear?
I think the tiger would lose to both.

It depends on which subspecies of brown bear is being compared. Small browns such as the marsican or himalayan are the underdog against a sib. Where browns and sibs coexist, mature male browns dominate the sibs. These are the siberian and ussuri browns. Other large browns such as the kodiak and the larger grizzlies (some grizzlies are quite small) have a clear advantage over the sib.
These big browns are much larger and more powerful than sibs and whilst individual outcomes cannot be predicted with any real accuracy, I think the bear would overwhelm to tiger most of the time.
That second paragraph applies to the polar bear also, they are comparable in size to the largest browns, though tending to be slightly larger on average.

Siberian tiger vs Brown bear: This could go either way. Basically, it depends on the sub-species of Brown bears. If you were to put a Grizzly bear against the tiger, the tiger would would probably win. Grizzles, unlike Their larger cousins, Kodiak’s, can only weigh up to about 990 lbs. A Siberian tiger can weigh up to 660 lbs. As you can see, there isn’t a lot weight difference between the two. Now, if you put a Male Kodiak bear(A Kodiak can grow up to 1500 lbs) against the tiger, Than it would be a tie. The Kodiak has size, strength, and claws on his side, while the tiger has claws, strength, and teeth on his side.
Siberian tiger vs Polar bear: Like the Kodiak vs Tiger scenario, it could go ether way. A siberian tiger can take down a male gaur which can weigh up to 3300 lbs, while a polar bear can take down an adult male walrus, which can weigh up to 4000 lbs.
nurnord- Weight isn’t exactly everything. If a tiger can take down a Gaur, which can weigh up to 3300 lbs, then it should be able to take down a polar bear which is much smaller than a Gaur.

The brown bear would win because the tiger can’t stand up to fight.

It depends on the brown bear. If it was a North American grizzly the tiger would gut it like a fish. If it was a Eurasian or Usarri brown bear the tiger would still kill it relatively easily. Siberian Tigers do tend to go for females and cubs but it is not uncommon for them to kill an adult male. If it was a kodiak or polar bear it would be a kinda unpredictable fight and could go either way, but I would say that the tiger would win more often because they are strong enough to easily kill a bear (although a bear is also strong enough to easily kill a tiger), but the tigers superior speed and agility would let it land killer blows on the bear first.
Also, the tiger has longer canines and sharper claws, and if the fight happens at night the tigers sensative whiskers, night vision, and superior smelling would allow it to easily take down the bear.
