Your personal opinion of Leon Trotsky?

Question by Iama Froggie: What is your personal opinion of Leon Trotsky?
I’m doing this for a project and i honestly can’t think of anything to say about him! But i suppose all the opinions should be generally the same so yeah. A little push, here? Thanks a lot.

My opinion is that if you google his picture on the internet you’ll notice that he has some very intimidating eyes.

They stare right into your soul and whisper secrets.

Other than that I don’t know much about him except that he was probably smarter than Stalin, and that his death was unfair and cheap.

Oh and if you’ve read books by George Orwell such as 1984 or Animal Farm. Trotsky is featured symbolically as the characters Emmanuel Goldstein and Snowball respectively. In case that helps.

He deserved what he got. He was a goddamn bolshevik. An axe in his head was exactly what he had coming to him.

edit: hey 13 years philosphy professor…I read the Gulag Archipelago. I know all about your ploughman. And where are you now? Gee Eff Why.

He was instrumental in the establishment of the Soviet Union, in which I grew up. He wasn't part of the regime of the greatest leader of all time, though. And that would be the great Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin. If only he were still around or all leaders were like him. Saddam Hussein was the closest anyone has come to a Stalin, and the stupid Americans killed him.

I can't say I ever met the guy, seeing as how he died long before I was born. But I hear he writes novels as long as phone books, and about as interesting. Sorry, I know that wasn't very helpful. Have you tried reading about him on Wikipedia?
